The Asian Interventional Cardiovascular Therapeutics (AICT), inaugurated in Singapore 2005, is the first annual live-demonstration course organised with the collaboration of multiple cardiac centres across Asia.

The aim is to consolidate the expertise, know-how and resources of the regional leading institutions and societies to create a significant impact in the world map of interventional cardiology. Besides Singapore’s National University Hospital, the other founding members of this programme include Dr Ashok Seth from India’s Max Devki Devi Heart and Vascular Institute in New Delhi, Dr Robaayah Zambahari, Dr Mohd Ali Rosli from Institut Jantung Negara in KL and Dr Sim Kui Hian from Sarawak General Hospital, KL. Dr Damras Tresukosal and Wasan Udayachalerm from Thailand’s Siriraj Hospital. The rest include Philippine’s Society for Cardiac Catheterisation and Intervention, Indonesia’s Harapan Kita Hospital and Vietnam’s National Heart Institute.

As new and innovative therapies are being rapidly developed, the AICT offers a forum where Asian perspective of this evolving field is discussed and presented. The meeting will showcase the basics and the latest advances in coronary intervention technology in the form of live demonstrations, didactic lectures and interactive sessions with experts. It also intends to distinguish itself by having a strong teaching component in providing attendees with comprehensive basic to advanced knowledge and practical tips on the handling of the different interventional devices.

The AICT is privileged to be supported by Society of Coronary Angiography & Intervention (SCAI), which has been an advocate of quality and credentialing for interventionists, and Asia-Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology (APSIC).
